I came here to buy a pair of shoes that cost 89.95. At the register I was told if I opened a DSW account I would get 25% off the purchase. My younger sister had done the same with her purchase a few weeks ago of the same exact brand of shoes and had gotten the discount when she opened her own account. I continued to open the account and when the "discount" was applied the shoes were $97, more than the price on the sales sign. The shoes were ringing up with an original price of $130.00, clearly different (and much higher) than the $89.95 price from the sign. As someone who spent 5 years working through high school and college in retail, I as well as many other people are aware that when a company mistakes a price, they must give you the item for that price marked on the sales sign. The manager refused the discount and said there was "no such promotion EVER". He actually said they had never done the 25% off discount before with an account opening which completely contradicted what he had just tried to sell me. It's not a big deal but I just wanted to warn other people because that's not right-the lying directly to my face is a huge problem. If I could give 0 starts I would. I was very disappointed. I was really excited about shopping here, my other family members have probably spent close to $500 on shoes here in the past month but we probably will not be coming back. I cannot be lied to by a manager.
